A mid grey-taupe decor with a fine, straight grain and no figure: the middle of the cool range, where a job wants a grey that still reads as timber rather than as a painted panel.
Tempest carries just enough warmth to stay a taupe rather than a flat grey. It is a deliberate pair with Typhoon, which is lighter at much the same hue. The grain is fine and straight with low contrast and no cathedral figure, so it holds quietly over a large area. The pattern is sliced, dyed, re-laid and re-sliced rather than grown, which is why colour holds sheet to sheet and across a staged delivery in a way no natural log can.
Supplied in 3100 × 640 leaves.
