Sydney blue gum, crown cut: a smooth pale pink-brown to light red-brown face with soft, straight-ish grain.
Botanical name: Eucalyptus saligna
Sydney blue gum is moderately coarse, with a warm pinkish tone and calm figure. Grown on the east coast of Australia.
Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
