Smoked Australian eucalypt, quarter cut: a very dark grey-brown with straight, parallel stripes running down the leaf.
The colour is applied by fuming, which takes the eucalypt to a near-black grey-brown. The quarter cut gives a calm, linear stripe. Smoked timber keeps its natural irregularity, so expect variation between leaves.
Fumed colour is a treatment, so match a continuing job to the original order. Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
