Silky Oak

$0.00

Australian silky oak: a warm golden to reddish brown with very large, bold, lacy ray flecks. A strongly figured native with real character.

Botanical name: Grevillea robusta

Silky oak's flecks are much larger and more sprawling than the fleck of a true oak, and they sit on a warm, reddish ground. Large lacy flecks on a reddish ground mean silky oak. Grown in eastern Australia.

Also held as edging. Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
