Paldao Quarter

$0.00

Paldao, quarter cut: a grey-brown to olive-khaki with a few widely separated dark lines. Also sold as New Guinea walnut.

Botanical name: Dracontomelon dao

Paldao is a striped timber with irregular dark lines, more grey and more streaky than American walnut. It is easily confused with Malt Zebrano and Macassar Ebony, but paldao is the olive-khaki one. Grown in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.

Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
