Figured Murray River red gum: a deep brick red to red-brown with a bold, streaked and wavering figure. A strongly coloured feature timber.
Botanical name: Eucalyptus camaldulensis
Red gum is one of the reddest timbers in the Australian range, often carrying gum veins and figure. This figured line shows broad, wavering bands of colour. Grown along the Murray River and inland waterways of south-eastern Australia.
Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
