Australian ironbark, quarter cut: a dense, fine, uniform timber in a cool grey-brown with a ribbon shimmer running down the leaf.
Ironbark covers a wide colour range, from pale greyish brown through to deep red-brown. On the quarter cut the interlocked grain gives a soft ribbon or mottled shimmer that wanders across the face, with very fine, dense and even texture.
Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
