A deep charcoal grey measuring dead neutral on both colour axes, with a fine, straight, closely spaced grain and no figure: for a job wanting weight and depth without going to black, and without a brown or blue cast creeping in under artificial light.
Cloudburst is the darker of the two neutral greys Ventech carries at this weight, Castlestone being the lighter. Tempest and Barista sit at almost the same lightness but carry warmth, so both read warm beside it. The grain is fine, straight and evenly spaced with no crown figure. The pattern is sliced, dyed, re-laid and re-sliced rather than grown, which is why colour holds sheet to sheet and across a staged delivery in a way no natural log can.
Supplied in 3100 × 640 leaves.
