Australian blackbutt with the character left in: gum veins, knots and colour variation in a warm, honey-brown face. A rustic, authentic look.
Botanical name: Eucalyptus pilularis
Natural feature grade (NFG) keeps the gum veins, pin knots and tonal variation that the clean Face grade removes. It suits a job that wants a lived-in, honest timber look rather than a uniform one. Grown along the east coast of Australia.
Also held as edging. Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
