American redgum, also listed as red heart eucalypt: a reddish brown with dark irregular streaking and a swirling figure.
A strongly figured timber with a warm ground and dark streaks that flow across the face. Ventech lists it as American Redgum (Red Heart Euc), so no single botanical name is quoted.
Leaves are generally available from 2500 to 3600 mm long. 3600 mm is always in short supply and needs its availability checked before it is specified. Natural timber, so it never repeats and colour and figure vary log to log: match a continuing job to the original order rather than to this page.
